Clinical Applicability of Cognitive Testing in Huntington Disease
Mühlbäck, Alžbeta ; Klempíř, Jiří (advisor) ; Rusina, Robert (referee) ; Horáková, Hana (referee)
Introduction: Huntington disease (HD) is an autosomal dominant neurodegenerative disorder manifested by motor, behavioural and cognitive deficits with fatal consequences. Aims: This study aims to validate the psychometric properties of a standard cognitive battery used in HD and establish language-specific normative values. Methods: In the first study, cognitive performance was compared in 106 patients at different stages of HD and 100 healthy controls matched for age, sex, and education. The neuropsychological battery included the Symbol Digit Modalities Test, Stroop Word Reading Test, Stroop Colour Naming Test, Stroop Interference Test, Trail Making Test-A and B, Category and Letter Verbal Fluency. In addition, patients were comprehensively assessed for motor and functional status. In the second study, the cognitive performance of 3,267 healthy subjects was assessed. The work focused on the stratification of cognitive performance concerning age, gender, language and level of education. Another aim was to establish the language-specific normative values and implement a web-based normative calculator to assess the degree of cognitive deficit in different languages (English, German, Spanish, Italian, Polish, French, Dutch, Danish). Results: In the first study, analysis of variance showed that healthy...
The possibilities of evaluation of the sport performance on the postural functions - CDP normative data for sport population
Vomáčková, Helena ; Pavlů, Dagmar (advisor) ; Kovanda, Jan (referee)
I ABSTRACT Autor: Mgr. Helena Vomáčková Title: The Possibilities of Evaluation of the Sport Performance on the Postural Functions - CDP Normative Data for Sport Population Objective: The main aim of the dissertation is to determine the standardized values (normative data) of individual parameters of test protocols obtainable with usage of dynamic computer posturography of the NeuroCom SMART EquiTest System (hereinafter SMEQ). The partial second goal is to compare the determined normative data with the existing values used for routine evaluation of postural stability given by the SMEQ software. Another partial goal is to determine the reliability of individual test parameters in an additional pilot survey. Methods: Data for the determination of standardized values were obtained by laboratory measurements using the SMEQ system and subsequently were converted, unified and adjusted for further processing by statistical "software R". To determine the normative data, an input data-set obtained from a deliberately selected group of active athletes (n = 245) in the selected age range of 20 - 30 years with an average age of 24,04 (± 1,23 years), with an average body height of 173, 29 (± 10,04 cm), mean body weight 68,46 (± 13,10 kg) and mean BMI 22,67 (± 3,04) was used. To calculate the predicted normative data for...

Validation of Kraepelin & and Pauli's Working curve Test modified for hand activities. Subtitle: Test of rope clamps
Fricová, Jitka ; Svěcená, Kateřina (advisor) ; Angerová, Yvona (referee)
of the Diploma Thesis: The presented diploma thesis is focussed on the standardization of the modified test of Working curve by Emil Kraepelin and Richard Pauli, in agrément with the project PREGnet - basic methodology for ergodiagnostic examination in Czech Republic. The methodology was modified for manipulation activities and termed Test of rope clamps. It handles contraindications in the use of basic test and absence of standardized ergodiagnostic and endotherapeutic tests, tools and procedures in the field of examination and therapy of hand function. The thesis is both theoretical and empirical and it is based on the quantitative type of research. Theoretical part is represented by a literature surfy oriented on the test of Working curve by Emil Kraepelin and Richard Pauli, its modified vision and its practical application. Practical part is composed of a psychometric study determining normative data and development of test documentation. Representative sample was selected by accidental selection method from economically active healthy Czech population. Techniques for quantitative type of research were used for data collection. Collected data were treated and analysed by methods of descriptive statistics. Developed documentation and the normative data for Test of rope clamps can be used in...
